Reading School focus group
In October 2025, we invited 14 boys to take part in an informal focus group with us, following the first sitting of the new format four paper Reading School entrance exam in September 2025. Those invited included a selection of the boys we tutored throughout 2024 and 2025, and a selection of boys who attended our Reading School 11+ mock exam days in May, June, July and August 2025. We asked for their first hand feedback regarding the exam format. We asked several questions, and answers were provided anonymously.
Our goals were to ascertain:
Their overall thoughts on the four paper format (Adventure Paper, Beacon Paper, Compass Paper and Discovery Paper)
What aspects they found the most challenging
How well prepared they felt, having been tutored by our team and/or having attended our new format mock exam days
How closely our mock exam format resembled the real exams which they sat on the day
Following this focus group, we have now analysed the feedback internally, and we are confident and satisfied that our tuition and mock exam format are well tailored towards preparing boys for Reading School entrance exams in 2026.
