Information for CCHS 11+ candidates preparing for the September FSCE admissions exams

Over the past few months, we have received an increasing number of enquires from parents of prospective applicants for Chelmsford County High School for Girls (CCHS). The school recently announced a move to the FSCE four-paper 11+ admissions format (Adventure paper, Beacon paper, Compass paper and Discovery paper), beginning with the next admissions exam on Thursday 3rd September. This is the same 4-paper format adopted by Reading School last year. We have been tutoring students locally towards these new format entrance exams throughout 2025 and 2026. We have also been running our mock exams using the new four-paper format since May 2025. Our tuition and mock exam format was then evolved further following our focus group with a selection of students from the first cohort to sit the real FCSE four-paper format exams in September 2025.

While our team are all located within the Reading area, we are more than happy to help where we can, in terms of accommodating girls preparing for the CCHS 11+ exams this coming September with one-to-one online tuition, and in welcoming girls along to our remaining Reading School 11+ FSCE-style mock entrance exams on 6th June, 28th June and 22nd August, which take place in Reading town centre, in Berkshire.

Having reviewed the recently released CCHS FSCE familiarisation materials for both parents and children, we can confirm that the documents are exactly the same as the guides released for the Reading School FSCE exams, therefore, we are confident that our tuition and mock exams will translate seamlessly.

We are also more than happy to answer any questions parents may have regarding our experience with the format, and how they can help children at home.

If you would like to receive a call back to discuss our tuition options, please complete this form, and one of our senior 11+ tutors will get back to you as soon as possible. Our process usually involves booking a one hour introductory tuition session with a senior tutor, before your child is then matched with a tutor for regular weekly sessions (2 hours per week is our typical frequency, but we are fully flexible in coming up with a schedule that works for you and your family).

If you are interested in attending a mock exam, please note that these are all held in Reading, but we are happy to accommodate prospective CCHS girls. Click here to view the list of dates and make your booking - you will need to book for the 'Reading School 11+ mock exam', and then simply mention that your daughter is a prospective CCHS student when completing the registration form you receive.

Finally, as a result of direct requests from parents, we are looking to launch an option for girls from outside of Reading to complete our mock exams remotely. This option should be available in the next few weeks. Please note that pricing will be the same as for our physical mocks, and that this will involve installing specific security software on your PC, in order to provide as authentic an experience as possible. If you would like to be notified when this platform is launched, please click here.

Unfortunately, we do not offer mock exam papers for purchase, and this is not something we will be offering in the near future.
